Back To The Grind, The Coffee Grind.

Today, I had received my first official assignment as an investigatory journalist. I've been channeling my inner Matilda Jeffereys all day long. I'm quite excited, yet, at the same time a bit overwhelmed. I am excited because I am finally doing something, and I'm a bit overwhelmed because I'm actually doing something. I have a weekly deadline so that means no PROCRASTINATION. When I first got my assignment, I said to myself, "Great, I will start on it tomorrow." I could not have been more wrong in my life! Apparently in journalism time is of the essence. I contemplated whether I should just put the whole thing off until tomorrow, but then I decided that it doesn't take that much effort to make a simple phone call to get the ball rolling.

So now, it is time for me to get back to work after a looonnnggg hiatus. I foresee a myriad of long nights, early mornings, and empty coffee cups piling up in my car. It feels good, and it reminds me that I would rather be anywhere but here.

P.S. I'm super mad that the Borders closed near my house! I have no where to study! The library at ARC is being renovated, I can never concentrate at Barnes & Noble, and Sac City is just waay too far. As for my house, I would not even consider it. Damn you stupid high school kids for stealing and damn the stupid economy.
